WILLIAM TRAVIS
Chaska, Minn.
William Dean Travis, 63, of Chaska, Minn., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 26, 2014.
William was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Travis.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Travis; daughters, Sarah Ann Travis of Delano, Minn., and Abby Lynn Travis of Boston, Mass.; father, William D. Travis of Cedar Rapids; and brother,
Steven Travis of Cedar
Rapids.
A graduate of Cornell College and the University of Iowa, Bill retired as managing partner of McGladrey in 2006 after 31 years in the audit and accounting practice. He then served as the president of Bailiwick Data Systems for four years, followed by three years as the president of IDEA Drilling. At the time of his death, Bill also served on the board of directors of Hazeltine National Golf Club, Klein Bank, Bailiwick and IDEA Drilling, and was a member of AICPA and MNCPA.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Prairie Community Church, 9145 Eden Prairie Rd., Eden Prairie, Minn., with visitation one hour before the service.
Memorials are preferred to Humor to Fight the Tumor of Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home.
