GLEN "GOV" A. GADKE
Stanwood
Glen "Gov" A. Gadke, 75, of Stanwood, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at his home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, by the Rev. Ron Lashmit. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Burial: Stanwood Cemetery. Lunch will follow at Stanwood Union Church.
Born April 2, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Paul and Fern (Kimberling) Gadke, he married June Wagner on May 9, 1964, at Stanwood Methodist Church.
Glen served in the Navy, was a member of the Stanwood Masonic Lodge for 50 years, a 51-year member of the Stanwood Fire Department and a founding member of the Stanwood Ambulance Service.
He was a DOT officer for over 30 years, an avid car show enthusiast and an animal lover.
Survivors include his wife, June; s son, Chad (Kim) of Tipton; sister, Elaine (Jim) Bainter of Laurie, Mo.; and grandchildren, Kyle, Keely and Karlee Gadke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan; and grandson, Kameron.
