New 8K course a lonely road for runners, fans

The Cedar Valley Running Association shouldn't have moved the Alliant Energy Fifth Season 8K course to Otis Road. There is absolutely nothing out there and no positive reinforcements for the runners.
On Blake Boulevard and Grande Avenue, all of our neighbors come out and have parties. We line the streets with our chairs and cheer on our fellow citizens. It is a community event and it is completely impractical to move the route that far because the original meeting site was demolished. They could have met up along Third Avenue SE and started there, keeping the traditional route.
This race has run in front of my house since I was a little girl. I'm disappointed at the lack of thought they showed for the support of the runners and the enjoyment of the community.
