Trimpe, Marie Anna
Marie Anna Trimpe was born Nov. 16, 1924, near Deep River, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Maria Anna (Burke) Jahlas. She attended St. John's Parochial School, near Victor. Marie was united in marriage to Arnold M. Trimpe on April 26, 1943, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Victor. The couple lived and farmed west of Williamsburg, until moving to town in 1984. Marie enjoyed quilting, cooking, playing cards and traveling. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Altar Guild, Ladies Guild and Fellowship Club. Marie died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by three sons, Gary (Judy) Trimpe of Cedar Rapids, Ken (Sally) Trimpe and Dale (Cathy) Trimpe, all of Williamsburg; eight grandchildren, Monique Clifford, Julie Trimpe Frey, Kendra Hanzlik, Renell Strait, Brian Trimpe, Scott Trimpe, Crystal Sherman and Ashley Gilbert; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, LaVerne (Earlene) Jahlas of Williamsburg; and a sister, Esther (Vernon) Sandersfeld of Homestead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1988; twin sister, Mildred; and three brothers, Harold, Raymond and William.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery, near Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
