Shirley Ann Wing was born in Des Moines and raised in Waterloo. She attended Waterloo West High School before moving to Iowa City, where she would make her home for the rest of her life. She retired from ACT in 2011. Her great passions were her family, friends and animals. She had four dogs, Chauncey, Gabby, Sadie and Ella, and helped feed and care for stray cats that sought refuge in the Aldeman backyard. She volunteered with Hospice of Iowa City and sang in a community choir. She had a gigantic, loving heart and loved to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Caleb Aldeman; daughters, Staci (Brent) Appel, Christy Fehlberg and Megan Wildebour; grandchildren, Theodore, Jacob, Issac, Olivia, Michael and Samuel Appel, Taylor (David) Netolicky and Kyle Fehlberg; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Netolicky. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Kelley (Jon) Meister, Kristin Keith and Courtney (Troy) Block; and stepgrandchildren, Chloe and Justin Keith, Meagan Whetstone-Jackson (Jason Jackson) and Greyson Block.
She was preceded in death by both parents, William and Marie Wing; siblings, Roger Wing, Linda Burke, Donna Okerstrom; and stepdaughter, Heidi (Tom) Whetstone.
