Burke, Madeline Marie (Robinson)
Madeline Marie (Robinson) Burke, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at Mercy Medical Center on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, surrounded by her family.A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Surviving Madeline are her son, Bill (Anita) Burke, her granddaughter, Kim (Joe) Denny, and great-granddaughter, Maci Madeline Denny, all of Cedar Rapids.Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews.
Madeline was born April 24, 1920, to Floyd and Clara (Nolan) Robinson.She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School.Madeline retired after 43 years at Collins (Rockwell) as a quality audit inspector. She had taught training schools under Art Collins in Cedar Rapids and Canada.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Bill, Jim, and Jack Robinson.
Her pride and joy were her granddaughter, Kim, and her great-granddaughter, Maci, who would light up her face whenever she saw them.
A special thanks to the staff at the Hiawatha Care Center, Mercy Medical Center and Hospice of Mercy for their excellent care of Madeline.
