Donna Marie Woodward, 72, of Garnett Place, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, with the Rev. Tammy Buseman officiating. Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Donna is survived by her husband of 48 years, David; sons, Gary (Brenda) of Waukesha, Wis., and Chris of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Thomas (Sue) and Bill (Ellie) Krejci, Cedar Rapids, and Jim Krejci, Albuquerque, N.M.; granddaughters, Alexandra, Samantha and Kaitlyn Woodward; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also is survived by two very special friends, Mary Mann and Marilyn Mason, with whom she had long-term friendships.
She was preceded in death by her 5-year-old daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Woodward; and her parents, Louis J. and Laura M. (Huston) Krejci.
Donna was born March 21, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. She married David A. Woodward on Dec. 13, 1969, in Cedar Rapids.
Donna's family would like to thank the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy staff, nurse practitioner Stephanie Hoenig from Mercy Medical Center and Dr. Jasmine Nabi from the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center.
