The Iowa Farm Bureau spokesman on May 21 published the answers to their questions to the candidates running for office in the primary and final elections this year.
Question No. 10 to U.S. Senate candidates Bruce Braley and Joni Ernst was 'Would you support permanent repeal of estate taxes?” Braley answered 'no,” Ernst answered 'yes.”
The estate tax, or the 'death tax” is 40 percent, while under President Bush it was 0. The 'death tax” is double taxation since you have already paid income tax, sales tax, Social Security tax, property tax and other taxes.
This tax takes a piece of everything you have worked a lifetime to earn such as stocks, bonds, cars, homes, boats, farms, land, family heirlooms and businesses.
Vote for Ernst in November to end the 'death tax.”
