Tom Moore, 47, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics,
Iowa City. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A prayer service will begin at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Father Paul Baldwin. A meal will be served following the service.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Moore of Monticello; sisters, Joan Moore (Wayne Clements) of Forest, Va., and Janie (Matt) Ricklefs of Hiawatha; brother, Terry (Brenda) Moore of Kaukauna, Wis.; his nieces and nephews, Chase, John, Isaac, Grace, Olivia and Eli; his friend, Wendie Medina; best friend, Fred Lynxwiler; and his "pup dog," Nika.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; and his "pup dog," Andi.
Tom was born Jan. 3, 1967, the son of Richard and Shirley (Boeckenstedt) Moore, in Monticello, Iowa. He graduated from Monticello High School. Tom worked as a service technician for Hotsy Cleaning Systems since 2000.
Tom was a hands-on person who enjoyed tinkering, woodworking, camping, boating and fishing.
He loved music, playing his handmade guitars and was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
