Evelyn Maxine Moore, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sept. 16, 2015, at Hallmar of Mercy in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Oct. 10, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids. Private family burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery prior to the memorial service.
Maxine was born Sept. 5, 1922, to Joseph and Mabel (Day) Shipton in Columbus Junction, Iowa. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of PEO Chapter FO, Chi Omega Sorority, Tourist Club, First Presbyterian Choir and former deacon, Friday Lunch Bunch, Cedar Rapids Cantata Singers, Cedar Rapids Municipal Band and lifelong Iowa Hawkeye fan.
She is survived by her beloved friend, Margaret Haupt; her four children, Lynne (Gary) Andren of Minneapolis, Minn., Stephanie (John) Haas of Minneapolis, Minn., William D. Moore III of Houston, Texas, and Brian L. Moore of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Emily Miller, Derek Andren, Kevin Haas, Curt Haas, Leslie Brewer, Cameron Moore and Ashley Moore; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Zoe Long, Eileen Hall, Marcella Shipton and Robert Shipton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church Deacon Fund.
