ELIZABETH L. WITTENBERG Cedar Rapids Elizabeth L. Wittenberg went to live with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2017, in her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born July 20, 1929, to Elmer L. Lathrop and Mary Helen Mere Lathrop in Stone City, Iowa, she was the third of eight siblings. She worked at the Dragon Restaurant, Penford and Rockwell Collins before starting her own cleaning business. She loved fishing, crossword puzzles, gardening and video games with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Dave Wittenburg; children, Ginger Zalesky and husband, Joe, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sherry Henderson and late husband, Russell, of Battlemount, Colo., and Carmel Lathrop of Fairfield, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Burns of Vinton, Iowa; sister, Joanne Fetters of Batavia, Iowa; brother, Albert (Butch) Lathrop of San Diego, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Bet. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Nolan Ogden; son, Kevin Ogden; sister, Alberta Dirks; brother, Harold Lathrop; sister, Donna Fultz; and brother, Elmer Lathrop Jr. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. May 12 at the American Legion, 625 31st St., Marion.
