ROBERT J. "BOB" THOMPSON
The Villages, Fla.
Robert J. "Bob" Thompson, 85, a man of strong faith, went to be with our Lord on Feb. 9, 2017.
Bob, the son of Clarence and Ione (Sill) Thompson, was born Oct. 3, 1931, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. He was raised on a farm west of Buck Creek, attended Buck Creek Consolidated School, and graduated from Kokomo, Ind., High School and the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy.
He enjoyed golf and playing bridge. He was a master of many trades.
His compassion for others, gentle spirit and quick wit will be missed by his wife, Lois; his daughter, Lisa (Richard) Miller of Salt Lake City, Utah; his stepchildren, Pam (Jeff) Stone of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Mike (Marcee) Prather and Jeff (Robyn) Prather of Dallas, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Gail (Jim) Johnston of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Joanne; his father and mother; his brother, Ralph; and his sister, Kathleen, and her husband, Paul Knudtson.
