Nearmyer, Lavern A. 'Vern'
Lavern A. “Vern” Nearmyer, 48, of Scranton, Pa., died May 12, 2011, after a long illness. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marion. Inurnment: Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg.
Vern was the son of Marjorie (Bonesteel) Nearmyer of Zeeland, Mich., and R. Lavern Nearmyer of Newton, Iowa. Vern graduated from the Newton (Iowa) High School and Baptist Bible College, Clarks Summit, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Lisa Bush (Jonathon), Zeeland, Mich.; a nephew; two nieces; and from the Eastern Iowa area, uncles, John and Robert Bonesteel, and aunt, Daisy Roehr.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Valerie Stone.
