Reta Marie Saylor, 76, of Hiawatha, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. Visitation will be held from
4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Chapel of Memories Stateroom, Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; daughters, Jennifer O'Brien (Deb Quitney) and Corinne Bohner (Michael); grandsons, Jefferson and Patrick O'Brien; stepgrandchildren, Sarah, Blake and Lauren Bohner; brothers-in-law, Howard Saylor (Rosalie) and Don Bennett; sister-in-law, Audrey Lou; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and her brother.
Reta Marie Stone was born Feb. 8, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., to Oren and Hellen Stone. She graduated from Vinton High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing. She married Paul Saylor on April 3, 1965, in Marion, Iowa. She worked as a registered nurse and case manager at St Luke's Hospital. She started the oncology unit and managed the skilled nursing unit during her 38-year career. She went on to be a health safety manager at PMX and retired from there. She was on the Hiawatha City Council and enjoyed volunteering through many organizations within her church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Hiawatha Fire Department or Hope United Church of Christ.
