LAWRENCE (LARRY) LABARGE JR.

Lawrence (Larry) LaBarge Jr., 68, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Anamosa, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, after a long illness. Graveside services will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Wilcox Cemetery in Viola.
He is survived his daughter, Mica LaBarge; sister, Dianne LaBarge; mother, Shirley LaBarge-Hamilton; nephew, Ricky Gutierrez; niece, Jessica (Ben) Patience; aunt, Bea Arnold; a great-niece; two great-nephews; cousins; and his very special friend, Kathy Fritz.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his father, Lawrence (Spook) LaBarge.
Larry grew up in Stone City and graduated from Anamosa High School in 1968. He attended college in Kirksville, Mo., where he played on the baseball team. During the Vietnam conflict, he served in the National Guard. Larry got married but later divorced. He was the consummate salesman and worked in sales all his life until he retired recently.
Larry loved sports, especially the Hawks and the Cubbies. He liked taking rides in the country, playing practical jokes, and Stone City. All winter long, Larry looked forward to mushrooming in his secret spots. He also enjoyed frequent trips to New Orleans.
