Linda Drew
Linda L. Drew
9/18/1953 – 2/27/2015
After suffering a cardiac arrest, Linda took her final bow.
As a child she was
lovingly called Sarah Bernhardt due to her often dramatic reaction to life events.
Throughout her life, Linda loved all creatures, large and small, beginning with her horse, Marty, as a teenager. As a young adult, Linda's Great Dane
captured her heart. Linda then decided smaller was better (especially for condo living) and adopted three Yorkie and Shih-Tzu dogs over the past 20 years: Squirt, Max and Sophie. During these years Linda also cohabitated with Liz, the iguana; Tigger, the
fat-tailed gecko; Bella, the tortoise; Butch, an Uromastyx lizard; and Crosby, the hedgehog. Life was seldom dull with her menagerie.
To her niece and
nephew, Linda was a
real-life Auntie Mame (free-spirited and a wee bit eccentric). Linda's love for her family and generous spirit will be greatly missed.
At Linda's request, no services were held and her ashes were fittingly placed in a lizard-deco box.
Linda, as well as her
parents – Jim and Sally Drew (all fervent Hawkeye fans), would be ecstatic that the 2015 Iowa football team had its first perfect regular season in 93 years!
