The couple made their home in North Liberty and later in Solon, where Marie raised her family, cared for the home, tended to the gardens, and enjoyed the outdoors with fishing, hiking and mushrooming. Many knew Marie for her gift of drawing and painting, producing many signs in the area for businesses and individuals. But near and dear to her heart was her family, especially as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along! Her family includes seven children, Jim and Linda Croy of Solon, Pat and Sandy Croy of Webster City, Ron and Cheryl Croy of Phoenix, Ore., Mike Croy of Solon, Chris and Michelle Croy of North Liberty, Susan Croy and Daryl Buss of Iowa City and Vicky Kelso of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Nikki, Jill, Ronnie, Jonnie, Tabitha, JoAnna, Alyssa, Andy, Jessica, Casey, Katie and Megan; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Christopher, Huntyr, Paityn and Brynna; and a sister and her husband, June and Gene Evans of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold, in 1987; and two brothers, Don and Leonard Wray.
