Doug R. Bowen, 38, of Longmont, Colo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016.
A visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service and conclude with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton.

Douglas Robert Bowen, son of David and Helen (Kirkpatrick) Bowen, was born Aug. 12, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Doug graduated from Wieland School for special needs children in Lakewood, Colo. Doug had lived in group homes since 1989, and was a resident at Overature in Longmont at the time of his passing.
Doug was a fun-loving person and remembered anyone he met.
Those left to cherish Doug's memory are his mother, Helen (Kirkpatrick) Bowen McNaught and her husband, Ray, of Afton; brother, Bill (Meghan) Bowen of Prescott; and a niece and nephew, Reice and Anslee Bowen. He also survived by his grandmother, Dorothy McNaught of Afton; aunts and uncles, Wayne and Pam (Bowen) Silver of Cedar Rapids, John and Patty (Kirkpatrick) McCormick of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Jimmy and Donna Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids and Karl and Shari Kirkpatrick of Iowa City; extended family; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Bowen; grandparents, Roe and Dorothy Kirkpatrick, Robert and Mable Bowen and Clinton McNaught; and great- grandparents, Robert and Mary Bowen, Frank and Bessie Jandik and George and Olive Kirkpatrick.
