Timothy Alan Ross, 49, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Iowa City VA Health System. Celebration of Life services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Brosh Chapel.
Tim was born May 7, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the son of David and Dorothy (Leake) Ross. He attended Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School and then joined the United States Army. Tim was a medic and served during Desert Storm. He worked for the city of Cedar Rapids and Water Department.
Tim was involved in training Australian cattle dogs for competition and earned many awards. He was a member of VFW Post 788 and AMVETS. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with his friends, family and his dog, Zoey.
Tim is survived by his sons, Chris Ross and David Ross of Cedar Rapids; one grandson, Kallin Ross; and close family friends, Dick Nemec and Ken Cameron of Cedar Rapids.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
