Mark Daniel Himmelsbach, 25, of Norway, left us on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, to join our creator and Savior Lord for eternal life. Our Lord has prepared a place for him to now be at peace.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway, with the Rev. Brian Dellaert officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's and St. Paul's Cemetery in Watkins. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at St. Michael's Parish Center.
Mark Daniel, the son of John and Anne (Bearns) Himmelsbach, was born Sept. 17, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mark graduated from Benton Community High School in 2010. He worked for Erger Construction of Norway while attending Kirkwood Community College. Upon graduation, he worked for Blattner Energy constructing wind turbines. For the last two years, Mark had the privilege of being employed by the Cargill family, where he was deeply cared for and appreciated!
Mark always will be remembered for his willingness to help others. He enjoyed helping on the family farm, playing golf and the Cardinals. He was a member of Teamsters Local 238.
Mark is survived by his parents, John and Anne Himmelsbach of Norway; brother, Eric and friend Jessica Rieck of Watkins; Mark's dear friend, Anne Land of Iowa City; grandparents, Bernard and Janet Himmelsbach of Amana; grandmother, Rita Bearns of Cedar Rapids; aunts and uncles, Allen (Jeanette) Himmelsbach, Sheryl Oberreuter, Dan, Tom and Mary Bearns, Jim (Karen) Bearns and Pat (Tom) Arp; and several cousins and their families, Jennifer and Jake Cox, Nick Himmelsbach, William (Becky) and Luke Himmelsbach, Brad (Stephanie) and Emma Oberreuter, Dawn Oberreuter, Chad (Megan) Charlotte and Georgia Arp, Katie Arp, DDS, and Christopher and Nicholas Bearns. Mark also is survived by his many friends, including his co-workers at Cargill.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Bearns.
Brosh Funeral Service of Norway is in charge of arrangements.
