Jacob Basemann, 20, of Atkins, was suddenly taken from us in an ATV accident on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016. Send Off Celebration: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Helena Kozakiewicz of San Diego, Calif.; father, Allen Basemann of Atkins; brother, Kevin Basemann of Atkins; his other mother/family, Lori (Mike) Hansen of Norway, Iowa; grandparents, Edward and Margaret Kozakiewicz of Spruce Pine, N.C., and Mary Ann Malecek of Atkins; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his dog, Chloe; and countless friends.
Jacob was born May 2, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Allen and Helena (Kozakiewicz) Basemann. He graduated from Benton Community High School in 2014. He worked for Modern Piping in Cedar Rapids. Jacob loved being surrounded by his friends and having a cold one. Jacob knew how to make everyone smile and could always bring the party up a notch.
Memorials may be directed to the family for donation to Crohn's disease research.
