Survivors include her husband of nearly 60 years, Ernie; children, Susan (Dave) Felder of Torbert, La., and Jay (Shelly) Albaugh of Waverly; grandchildren, Amy (Jamie) Jarreau, Darci (David) Safranek, Darryl Felder (Carol Quinn), Sarah (Tyler) Kramer and Melissa Albaugh (Tyler Garcia); great-grandchildren, Lane Jarreau, Dani, Davis and Dade Felder, Elise and Evan Safranek and Harrison Kramer and one on the way; brother, Jerry Parker; and many extended family and friends.
Nancy Ann Parker was born March 31, 1940, in Cedar Rapids to Howard and Marion (Leib) Parker. She attended Tipton High School, where she played basketball, graduating in 1958. She worked as a secretary for Sebesta and Kuehnle law firm for many years. Nancy married Ernest "Ernie" Albaugh on June 7, 1958, in Mechanicsville. They lived in Mechanicsville for over 50 years, where she served on the city council, volunteered for the ambulance and fire department, was the secretary and treasurer for the Presbyterian church, and was a board member for ARC of East Central Iowa. They moved to Waverly in 2007.
Nancy enjoyed camping, bowling and traveling with Ernie. They were known to take the "long way" home - back roads to appreciate the scenery and admire big houses in the country. Nancy always enjoyed cooking, knitting and reading. She loved sports, especially the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling and basketball. Nancy cherished her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William and James Parker; and sister, Janette Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to ARC of East Central Iowa or Bartels Lutheran Home, Waverly.
