Albaugh, Gladys Elizabeth

Gladys Elizabeth Albaugh, 85, of Mechanicsville, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Mechanicsville Care Center. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at Morgan Funeral & Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Survivors include four children, Douglas (Doris) Albaugh of Mechanicsville, Michael (Joyce Aubrey) Albaugh of Cedar Rapids, Christine (Martin) Werling-Witkoske of Coralville and Colleen (Richard Madden) Clegg of Iowa City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joy (Phil) Rosenbaum of Perry.

Gladys was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Effie Mae (Eddy) Trierweiler. She was a woman's dorm custodian at Cornell College for 23 years, retiring in 1996.

Gladys enjoyed shopping, dining out, growing African violets, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Gregory and Kenneth.
