FRANCES A. "NELL" MASCHMANN

Frances A. "Nell" Maschmann, 87, of Brooklyn, Iowa, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Brooklyn Community Estate in Brooklyn. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with the Rev. Brent de Silva officiating. Inurnment will be in Harmony Cemetery, rural Brooklyn. The family will receive friends from noon Monday until service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Frances is survived by her son, Jim Maschmann (Hettie Ann) of Deep River; three daughters, Anita Allen (Patrick) of Deep River, Patricia Pefferman (Thomas) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Fay Maschmann (Ace Morales) of Grinnell; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Billings, Erin Averkamp, Brad Thomas Pefferman, Cheyenne Marie Morales, Jamie Lee Maschmann-Allen, Zane Eric Maschmann and Michelle Connolly; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Hawkins (Melba) of Santa Maria, Calif., and Clarence Hawkins (Luanna) of Vinton; and a sister, Betty Kopf of Marengo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Blanche Wendell Hawkins; her husband, Bud, in 2008; a brother, Raymond; and sisters, Florence Tinkle, Beatrice DeLung and Helen Brown.
