Cernin, Richard 'Dick' D.
Richard “Dick” D. Cernin, 70, of Elberon, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton from complications of COPD. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, with the Rev. Steve Hubbell presiding. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Vining. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Dick is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Shelley (Scot) Taylor of Tama, Deborah (Tom) Dvorak of Chelsea and Jennifer (Patrick) Rupp of Elberon; son, Matthew (Maria) Cernin of Chelsea; sister, Marilyn Ledvina of Elberon; brother, Fred (Julie) Cernin of Cedar Rapids; and 10 grandchildren.
