Marcella "Sally" Saxen, 89, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Des Moines, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Jane) Saxen of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Lori) Saxen of Wautaugh, Texas, Harry (Maria) Saxen of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Ann Morgan (Bob) of Van Meter, Iowa; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A celebration of Sally's life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Ave., Des Moines. Her family will receive friends one hour before the service. A private family inurnment of Sally and her husband, Henry "Sax" Saxen's cremated remains will take place later at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart, Iowa.
