Mildred Lohff, 96, died peacefully at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Hrabak Funeral Service of Belle Plaine, with Deacon Joe Behounek as officiant.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mildred was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Tama County, Iowa, to Lewis and Agnes (Jarvosky) Macek. On June 8, 1942, she married Henry Behaunek at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chelsea. Following Henry's death in 1959, she married Clarence Lohff in LeGrand. Together they spent many years living in Holstein until Clarence's death in 2011. She then moved to Chelsea to live with her daughter.
She loved gardening, feeding the birds, and doing her woodworking projects. She had a keen sense of humor, a sweet smile and a generous heart.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Walton of Chelsea; son, Gary Behaunek of Brooklyn; two grandsons, James and Gary Behaunek; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Fluffy.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Henry Behaunek; husband, Clarence Lohff; and son, Richard Behaunek.
