Aug. 17, 2009 2:43 pm
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders announced Monday that assistant coach Mark Mullen has left the organization for a job as a scout with the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.
Mullen, who played for Des Moines in the USHL, was in Cedar Rapids for two seasons, coming to town after being as assistant coach at Andover High School in Massachusetts. He played four seasons for Boston University.
He also played professionally for one season with the ECHL's Pee Dee Pride.
"We thank Mark for his hard work and dedication over the last two years and wish him the best with the Los Angeles Kings," said RoughRiders head coach/general manager Mark Carlson. "This is another indication of the caliber of people working in the United States Hockey League."
