CEDAR RAPIDS - Motorists along Interstate 380 and Highway 30 will have to take alternate routes for a few off ramps this week.
The Interstate 380 northbound ramp onto westbound Highway 30 will close at about 7 p.m. Wednesday until about 6 a.m. Thursday to allow for patching work on the ramp, said Steven Staebler, construction tech supervisor with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Motorists can follow I-380 north, take the 33rd Avenue exit and then head back south on I-380 to get onto the Highway 30 westbound lanes during that time, Staebler said.
Barring weather or unforeseen circumstances, the ramp should only close for one night.
On Thursday, Iowa DOT crews plan to close I-380's southbound ramp onto Highway 30 eastbound for patching from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Staebler said that project also is planned to be finished in one night.
Staebler said the ramps are closing to create a safer work environment for crews.
