Ten questions that must be asked at this week's Big Ten football media days
Mike Hlas Jul. 27, 2011 2:27 pm
A lot of meaningless fluff will be asked in Chicago Thursday and Friday at the Big Ten's football media days. But the following 10 questions must be addressed. They simply must.
1. Has Ohio State returned its Big Ten football championship trophy, or is it in a pawn shop in Columbus?
2. What kind of conference has coaches named both Hope and Kill?
3. To Joe Paterno: Are you pretty happy about McDonald's putting apple slices in Happy Meals?
4. Why is a league that will play all 48 of its conference games outdoors playing its championship game indoors?
5. After last Jan. 1, is the Big Ten feeling pretty good about bowls being played on New Year's Day this season because it falls on a Sunday?
6. What is the tiebreaker if all six teams in a division finish 4-4?
7. To Tom Osborne: When you were in the U.S. Congress, did your colleagues seem like a bunch of cement-heads?
I've asked these next two before and have yet to get a good answer.
8. Can you really belong to the Leaders Division and be in last-place?
9. Shouldn't the leader of the Legends Division be in the Leaders Division?
And finally ...
10. To Gary Barta: What will you name the traveling trophy for the game between Iowa and Louisiana-Monroe?
