Jamie F. Jarrett, 41, loving husband and father, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clincs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 302 E. Jefferson St., Iowa City. Father Ed Fitzpatrick and Father Steven Witt will be concelebrants. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an educational fund for his daughters, Brandt and Maren Jarrett, in care of Hills Bank and Trust, Iowa City.
Jamie was born Dec. 16, 1977, in Park Ridge, Ill., the son of James "Jim" and Robin (Van Osdol) Jarrett. He was a 1995 graduate of Effingham St. Anthony High School in Illinois, received an associate degree from Olney Central College, and his bachelor's degree from Spalding University.
Jamie married Alissa Brandt, the love of his life, on Aug. 22, 2009.
Jamie was a business development executive of healthcare for Aramark. Before that Jamie had been employed with Enterprise Car Rental, an account executive with the St. Louis Cardinals, marketing director with the Missouri Valley Conference, assistant general manager with the Daytona Cubs, general manager with the Palm Beach Cardinals, and assistant manager with the Quad City River Bandits.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church and was active with the Regina Boosters, where he loved to volunteer for Friday Night Fish Fries and football parking. Jamie was a people person with a great sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, Regina Regals and Vollstedt Boys.
Jamie is deeply missed by his wife, Alissa, and their two daughters, Brandt and Maren; his parents, Jim and Robin Jarrett of Ormond Beach, Fla.; his sister, Karie (James) Jarrett-Roberts; his grandmother, Ellen Van Osdol; his in-laws, Bill and Deb Brandt, Erin (James) Litton and children, Reese, Will, Emma and Luke, and Mary (Matt) Klein and children, Eleanor and Adelaide; grandmothers-in-law, Pat Brandt and Mary Frank; and numerous extended family.
