Green Team Technologies, which supplies software for aftermarket auto parts retailers, has been growing since its founders received a $150,000 state Demonstration Fund award last year to launch the company.
President and Founder Gabe Davis says that Green Team Technologies, which has about 15 eployees and independent contractors, plans to add six to 10 more this year. It is adding positions in software testing, customer support and customer training, Davis said.
The company's flaghsip product, Fuse5, is point-of-sale software that can be used for business forecasting, purchasing and dynamic pricing. It can also be used for employee, customer and vendor management.
"Fuse5 helps independent auto parts store owners manage every part of their business through a web-based software solution," Davis said in prepared remarks. He said a major advantage is the ability of the cloud-based software to offer real-time improvements in functionality, similar to the way Facebook rolls out new features.
Davis said the company has definite plans to add a 3,000-square-foot North Liberty office. Whether it maintains the current 2,200-square-foot Coralville office will depend on how many employees it has at the time.
Green Team recently added 11 new customers, Davis said, and is working with buying groups that represent independent auto parts stores throughout the United States.
"As we continue to add customers, there will be a constant demand for software developers, testers and trainers as well as customer service representatives," Davis said.
Iowa City Area Development Group has worked with Green Team Technologies to secure needed assistance.
