Richard C. Hoover, 68,
of Marion, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Survivors include his wife, Patty; children, Jenny (KC) Lane of Des Moines, James (Amber) Hoover of Belle Plaine and Sarah (Tim) Wright of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, Amani, Nate and Alli; and siblings, Linda Dailey of Cedar Rapids and Sandy (Jim) Stripe of Portland, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard Charles Hoover was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Charles and Agnes (Gilles) Hoover. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. On Aug. 20, 1972, he married Patricia Smith in Vinton, Iowa. Richard worked in sales for many years until transitioning to youth counselor at Four Oaks in Cedar Rapids. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
