Becker, DueWayne
DueWayne Becker, 68, of Oelwein, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, peacefully in his home with his family by his side. DueWayne has been cremated; a private burial will be at a later date in Norway, Iowa.
DueWayne was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Iowa City, the son of Grace and John Becker. He grew up in Norway, Iowa, with his many brothers and sisters. He worked most of his career in construction. He enjoyed building homes. DueWayne had a passion for gardening and loved spending his leisure time outdoors. He was married to Karen Pagles in Norway, which later ended in divorce. Together they had five sons and two daughters. On Nov. 23, 1973, he married Doris in Parker, Ariz., and they have two sons, Josh and Joe.
DueWayne is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 37 years; seven siblings; children, Terry, Randy, Jeff, Doug, Todd, Joe, Josh, and daughter, Penny (Becker) Rule; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jodi; and four siblings.
A memorial fund has been established at Veridian Credit Union in Oelwein c/o Doris Becker.
DueWayne no longer suffers from the pain he endured resulting from lung cancer on two different accounts.
His family would like to thank all those who cared for him during these past two months.
