Wayne H. Cox, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died after a long illness in his home Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, 2015. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday at Immac-ulate Conception Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Alice; daughter, Angela Cox, Cedar Rapids; many good friends; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold "Jack" and Pauline "Sally" (Davis) Cox.
Wayne was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an A.A. degree. Wayne had been employed at Farmstead Foods and later drove a bus for the school district and the city of Cedar Rapids. He retired in 2005.
Wayne was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 304. He loved to play euchre and was an avid football fan, especially the Chicago Bears.
A memorial fund has been established.
