Wayne Miller, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully following a short illness on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Jim Berger. The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; children, Jeff (Karen) Miller, Kelly Mather, Jolene (John) Snyder, Michael (Gloria) Wilford and David (Teresa) Wilford; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ralph Miller, Charles (June) Miller, Jeanne (Mike) Albert and Jane (Joe) Dullard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Earl Miller, Donald Miller and George Miller.
Wayne was born March 12, 1939, the son of Charles and Elva (Roser) Miller, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On March 24, 1976, he married Jane Cantwell-Wilford in Reno, Nev. Wayne was a local freight hauler.
He enjoyed NASCAR, painting, camping and spending time at his cabin, mushroom hunting, gambling and gardening, especially tomatoes.
Wayne's greatest love was his grandchildren and being there for his children when they needed him.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Wayne.
