Joan M. Peters, 81, of Delhi, died Dec. 26, 2016, at Marietta's Place surrounded by family and loved ones. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, St. John's Catholic Church, Delhi, Iowa, with a 3 p.m. Scripture service, and visitation one hour prior to Mass on Friday. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, with the Rev. John Kremer officiating. Burial: St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Delhi. Arrangements by Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville.
Joan was born Aug. 15, 1935, in rural Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of David and Frances (Sherlock) Werner. She married Ivan Peters on Nov. 30, 1957, at Sand Springs, Iowa. Joan was a homemaker for many years and later provided hospice home health care. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. She was a great cook who loved to bake for others. Joan was a caring person, providing hospice home health care to many. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gregg (Joan) Peters of Hopkinton, Curt (Kathy Jurgens) Peters of Delhi, Karla Peters of Delhi, Lisa (Bob) Pfeiler of Manchester and Jane (Jeff) Willenbring of Earlville; grandchildren, Angie (Adam) Feldmann, Kyle Peters, Matt (Kristy) Peters, Emily (Isaac Frieden) Peters, Erica (Michael) Steinberg, Lucas (Hanna Koloc) Pfeiler and Kyla Pfeiler and Clay Willenbring and Cole Willenbring; great-grandchildren, Anna, Addie and Ian Feldmann, Everly and Hadley Steinberg, and was awaiting the arrival of a great-grandchild any day; siblings, Duane (Yvonne) Werner of Dyersville and Kay (Walter) Loecke of Manchester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; a son, Brian Peters; a granddaughter, Amy Peters; and her parents.
