Beaman, Wilma F.
Wilma F. Beaman, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God by Pastor Larry Sohn and Pastor Don McGarvey. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include son, Dennis (Linda) Beaman of Hiawatha; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Feight of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, LaVonne Wheeler of Mason City, and Donna Wheeler (Robert) of Racine, Wis.; brother, Norman (Connie) Wheeler of Mason City; five grandchildren, Kevin (Crystal) Beaman, Lisa (Jamie) Meyer, Jason Feight, Chad (Amy) Feight and Benjamin Feight; and six great-grandchildren, Charisa, Mya, Kaden, Alaina, Claire and Bryn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; parents; and a brother, Eugene Wheeler.
Wilma was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Mason City, the daughter of Everett and Clara Cory Wheeler. She married Gerald Beaman there on June 1, 1947. Wilma was employed at Rockwell Collins. She was a member of First Assembly of God, where she helped plan senior events and taught the four year olds in Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Collins Retirees and Y M Silver Sneakers.
She loved to travel, crochet, walk, garden and spend time with her grandchildren. She loved life and meeting people. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
