GERALDINE "GERRY" MAE CADY

Geraldine "Gerry" Mae Cady, 91, of Troy Mills, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Northbrook Manor Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Troy Mills Christian Church conducted by the Rev. Don McGarvey. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the church. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery.
Gerry was born April 14, 1925, in Walker, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Alta Marie (Andrews) Waterbury. She graduated from Walker High School in 1943. Gerry worked at Cozy Inn as a waitress; Dairy Queen in Johnsonville, Tenn., with her family; Cherry Burrell; Wilson's; Topsey's International, in the food industry; and also at Arlane's. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and gardening. With these talents, she won many ribbons at the fair. She loved to travel and she particularly enjoyed her visit to Europe and Hawaii. Gerry especially loved her family and spending time with them.
Gerry is survived by her children, Judy Cady of Walker, Connie (John Bowers) Morris of Troy Mills and Weldon (Idee) Cady of Troy Mills; grandchildren, Alica, Donny, Brian, John, Crystal and Jennifer; step-grandchildren, Matt, Joe and Jerry; 17 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one niece, Vickie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Gladys LaVere.
