ATKINS - “The Zip,” a 50-foot-high, 1,400-foot round-trip ride on a zipline over Dry Creek, is the newest feature at Bloomsbury Farm.
Karen Petersen, co-owner of Bloomsbury Farm, said it is the first zipline attraction in the Cedar Rapids area and one of the longest and highest in the state.
"Our phones have really been ringing, and we've already started booking zipline outings and rides," Petersen said.
Bloomsbury Farm attracted nearly 40,000 visitors in 2011.
The agritourism complex 10 miles west of Cedar Rapids features two corn mazes, Barnyard Buddies, Barrel Train, Corn Box, Corn Cannon, Corn Maze, Grandma's Playhouse, Haunted Barn, Hayrack Rides, Jumping Pillow, Kid's Maze, Learning Barn, Pedal Carts, Pig Races, Pumpkin Cannon, Pumpkin Grill & Café, Pumpkin Patch, Straw Jump, Tire Maze and Western Town.
The daily admission fee does not include The Zip, Scream Acres, Dry Creek Paintball and mining for gems.
