Bruce Appleoff, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Certified Celebrant Jim Parton. Visitation will take place one hour before the service at the chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. In honor of Bruce, the family request you wear casual apparel.
Bruce was born April 6, 1945, to Richard and Bernice (Robertson) Appleoff in Bainbridge, Md. He attended the University of Wisconsin and was self-employed for many years. Bruce was united in marriage to Sue Schollman on Aug. 27, 1976, in Rock Island, Ill. He enjoyed reading, music, cars, pets and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; daughter, Libby (Todd) Richardson; grandchildren, Harper and Hadley; stepmother, Gwen Appleoff; and siblings, Mark Appleoff, Janell (Bill) Broton and Michelle (Tom) Chandler.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family of Bruce Appleoff.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center and the teams of Drs. Sam Wood, Matthew Smith and C.C. Lee for the tender care given to Bruce.
