Richard Skersick, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. A celebration of life will begin after 3 p.m. Satur-day, Aug. 22, at the Eagles Club, 1735 11th St. NW, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Skersick; sons, Rick (Angie) Skersick, Alan (Shirleen) Skersick, Todd (Donna Savoy) Skersick, Danny Huston, Dennis (Melanie) Skersick and Rodney (Aggie) Skersick; daughters, Crystal (Don) Darling and Cindy (Mike) Callahan; stepmother, Betty Skersick; brothers, Les (Bev), Perry (Teresa) and Brett Skersick; sisters, Terry (David) Uhlenhake and Kathryn Albers; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
Richard was born May 30, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leslie and Mildred (Babbit) Skersick. On Feb. 18, 1960, he married Margaret DeNio in Cedar Rapids. Richard worked as a mechanic and carpenter and could fix just about anything.
He enjoyed singing and playing music, boating, fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved to be with his family. Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie, and mother, Mildred.
