RICHARD "DICK" JOSEPH JAROSIK

Richard "Dick" Joseph Jarosik, 86, of Marion, formerly of Nebraska, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer, along with Alzheimer's disease, at Village Ridge in Marion. Per Dick's request, a private family service was held in Iowa. Inurnment at St. Martin Cemetery in Deweese, Neb., will take place at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, is assisting the family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joeann Quint Jarosik of Marion; stepchildren, Robert (Barb) Quint of Cedar Rapids, Margie (Bud) McFadden of Cedar Rapids and Kathy (Steve) Enabnit of Central City; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Richard was born June 5, 1930, in Spring Ranch, Neb., the son of Theodore and Josepheene Jarosik. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On June 12, 2012, Richard married Joeann Pulver Quint in Hastings, Neb. He was employed as a manager for Hastings Pipe Co., now known as Hastings Irrigation in Hastings, until retiring in 1995. He also was a farmer, farming the land on which he was born.
