Waterbeck, John Edward
John Edward Waterbeck, 83, of Grinnell, formerly of Hartwick, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell following an extended illness. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Dodds officiating. Burial will be in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.
Memorials may be contributed to Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn.
He is survived by his wife, Isabel of Grinnell; two sons, Gary J. Waterbeck (Donna) of Shellsburg and Terry L. Waterbeck (Judy) of Maple Grove, Minn.; two daughters, Susan Kay Locke (Jeff) of Urbandale and Joy Cummings (Marty) of Malcom; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Waterbeck of Coggon; and a sister, Fran Snyder of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard; and a sister, Elsie Vajgrt.
