Wayne Edward Myers, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at his home following an extended illness. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wayne Edward Myers was born Dec. 24, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Raymond and Ruth (Grabau) Myers. He graduated from Washington High School and attended the University of Iowa. Wayne was united in marriage to Jeanne Marie Nichols on Jan. 12, 1984, in Las Vegas. He was a restaurant and bar owner for many years and owned Ellis Landing. Wayne enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Marie Myers; two children, Michelle Michels and William Raymond Myers; a granddaughter, Morgan Michels, all of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, David (Terry) Myers of Hiawatha and Douglas (Julie) Myers of Blairstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Myers.
A special thank you to friends and family who helped Wayne through a long and difficult journey by making him laugh and adding joy to life.
