Edward Joseph (Noonan) Snyder, 63, of Iowa City, passed Monday, April 18, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Foundation: Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Edward was born Feb. 26, 1953, in Iowa City, the son of Clarence "Neil" Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty Ruth" (Bowen) Noonan. Edward was adopted by Harry and Betty Snyder. He spent his youth in Dubuque and Ames. He was united in marriage to Janet Daszkiewicz on March 14, 1992, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Edward was a finisher for IAC for several years, and before that worked at the P&G site for 10 years. He was a member of Auto Teamsters Local Union 238.
Edward was a valued customer at Shakespeare's, and was loved by all those who knew him. He loved country music, especially Willie Nelson.
Edward is survived by his wife, Janet; mother-in-law, Zdenka Daszkiewicz of Iowa City; stepmother, Iva Noonan of Dubuque; adopted mother, Betty Snyder of Elsa, Texas; eight siblings, Moe Noonan of Ashbury, Trish Nielson of Benton, Ky., Danny Snyder of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dean Noonan of Chicago, Mike Noonan of Morehead City, N.C., Mark Noonan of Dubuque, Rhonda Furlong of Key West and Chuck Smith of Buffalo, Iowa; and numerous extended family.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; adopted father; and three siblings, Ray Van Der Millen, Carl Noonan and Bobby Conters.
