BOBBIE SNYDER Manchester Bobbie Duane Snyder, 81, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his home. He was born on Aug. 28, 1933, in Keswick, Iowa, the son of Ed and Norva (Fasold) Snyder. Bob was a graduate of Keswick High School. Bobbie enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and was trained to maintain and repair the engine of the Air Force planes. He was also checked out to take care of President Johnson's airplane whenever he was in the area. He served in Japan, Vietnam and Germany. Bobbie served 23 years in the Air Force. He then moved to Manchester where he worked for Tredegar for another 20 years. Bobbie was united in marriage to Rosie Voscheck. Three children were born to this union. They later divorced. Bob was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Manchester. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed taking care of his many cars. Bob built several building on his land and like taking care of the lawn, trees and plants. Bob also enjoyed feeding the birds, turkeys and deer. Survivors include his three children, Jimmie Snyder and Delma Snyder, both of Weisbaden, Germany, and Mike Snyder of Cologne, Germany; a sister-in-law, Mil Snyder of Edgewood; a brother-in-law, Glen (Shorty) Harris of Manchester; a special friend, Joyce Schiel; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dickie and Ted; and one sister, Frances Harris. Online condolences may be sent through www.leonard-mullerfh.com. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at United Methodist Church in Manchester with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating. Interment with military rites: 1 p.m. Tuesday May 19, Sorden Cemetery, Keswick, Iowa.
