Street, Richard J.H.
Richard J. H. Street of Martelle, previously of Cedar Rapids, New Jersey and Delaware, died Dec. 7, 2012, at home following a long illness. Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Friends may visit at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the start of Mass.
Surviving Richard are his wife, Paula; two brothers, Edward J. H. Street of Campbell, Calif., and Gerald I. H. Street (Diane) of Dover, Del.; sister-in-law, Jacqueline M. Potocki of Bear, Del.; his six nieces and nephews, Andrew Street (Stacey), Rebecca Beste (Rob), Jonathan Street (Jill), Sarah Street, Cheryl M. Potocki (Dave Stover) and Christopher Turak; and four additional great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his parents.
Richard was born July 24, 1943, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Richard J.H. and Mary (Higgins) Street. Richard served in the U.S. Army. He wed Paula Ann Saute' on Oct. 5, l968.
Richard was employed as a systems engineer and IT consultant for various companies. While in New Jersey, Richard was district chairman of the Camden County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. As a member of St. Jude' s, Richard was active in the Sweet Corn Festival, and a member of Knights of Columbus 5544.
Richard was an avid cook and enjoyed camping and gardening.
