Hokanson, Kay Kristine
Kay Kristine Hokanson, 64, of Urbana, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Echo Hill Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Nathan Williams officiating. Visitation will be at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 5 p.m. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kay was born May 5, 1949, in Monticello, the daughter of Dr. Clarence and Virginia (Sheppard) Hosford. On Nov. 7, 1970, she married her husband, Darryl Hokanson, in Monticello. For most of her career, she worked in medical records for PCI in Cedar Rapids.
Kay is survived by her husband, Darryl; daughter, Gretchen (Jim) Post of Stoughton, Wis.; a brother, Robert (Jan) Hosford of Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren, Emmett, Lincoln and Ella Post, all of Stoughton, Wis.; mother-in-law, Gladys Hokanson of Little Falls, Minn.; and many extended family members.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Jean Hosford; father-in-law, Reuben Hokanson; and sister-in-law, Terry Hosford.
Memorials can be directed to First Responders of Urbana or the family.
The family would like to thank the Urbana First Responders, the Life Flight pilot and crew, and the doctors and staff at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
