Kral, Evelyn I. (Yansky)

Evelyn I. (Yansky) Kral, 85, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Evelyn Yansky was born Aug. 25, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Vodicka) Yansky. She graduated from Iowa City High and worked for 35 years for Bell Telephone in Iowa City. She married Dana Kral on Jan. 22, 1949, in Nashua, Iowa. Dana passed away in April 1987.

Evelyn enjoyed time working in the yard, traveling, taking photographs and supporting the Hawkeyes. She was known to many for her homemade candy, which she would box and gift every Christmas.

Evelyn's family includes her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Perle and George; and sister, Helen.

Even in death, Evelyn was able to help others as a donor through the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.
